Born in Washington, D.C. Michael Monroe learned early on the value of hard work, teamwork, and perseverance. He graduated from Gonzaga College High School, receiving the Eagle Club Award, Outstanding Producer Award, and recognition for his service as Student Government Senator, having also played Varsity Tennis and Cross Country, and co-captained the powerhouse J.V. Basketball team. 

Michael's academic prowess and leadership abilities led him to James Madison University, where he graduated with a degree in electronic journalism before successfully pursuing a Master's Degree in Real Estate from Georgetown University. The past two decades have been filled with numerous leadership and volunteer efforts including service on the Trust for the National Mall, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Desert, Leadership Coachella Valley, Board of Trustees to the Coachella Valley Mosquito Vector Control District, Man of the Year Candidate for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society South Bay Chapter, and participation in Veteran's organizations, hereditary and not-for-profits such as the Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, Friendly Son's of St. Patrick in the City of New York, Saint Andrew's Society of Washington, D.C., the Sons of the American Legion Hollywood 43, membership in the Palm Springs Scottish Rite, and as  a life member in perpetuity of McLean, Virginia's Sharon Lodge #327.
